| Buy a used textbook, help the environment |

The College Store, the off-campus college bookstore serving the students of Arizona State University, announced recently it is at 70 percent of its goal to be able to plant 100,000 trees. Together with other college bookstores across the country, the College Store has partnered with The Arbor Day Foundation to plant trees for all used textbooks bought or sold through February. The bookstore also is leveraging the campaign to aggressively fight rising textbook costs by supplying students with a robust used textbook program. The “Buy a Book, Build a Forest” campaign rewards students for buying and selling used textbooks and faculty for re-using textbooks for an additional term. It also has encouraged students to sell back their textbooks at the end of the term, making more used textbooks available for the next term. Through the end of the month, the College Store will donate a portion of each transaction that includes a used textbook to The Arbor Day Foundation to plant trees.
