The Arizona Academy of the Performing Arts (The Academy) hosts its sixth Annual Memorial Day Concert at the PERA Club, 1 E. Continental Dr, Tempe, AZ 85281, Monday, May 26, 2008 from 4 pm to 8 pm. This annual event features a full spectrum of family entertainment. Come and treat your family to a Memorial Day barbeque, have a seat in the shaded pavilion, and watch the entertainment, and participate in the many silent auctions and raffles that run throughout the afternoon. The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps will debut this season’s show music and feature the 148 members of the Drum Corps as they get ready to launch their 2008 summer competition tour. The Memorial Day Concert will raise funds for The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps’ 2008 summer tour ending in Bloomington, Indiana at the 2008 Drum Corps International World Championships. This year the Corps will tour for 37 days, competing in 20 competitions, and traveling nearly 12,000 miles throughout the United States. Tickets are $5 in advance or $8 at the event, which includes music performances, silent auction and raffles, family fun entertainment, and games. All proceeds from the Memorial Day Concert benefit The Academy which is committed to creating positive learning and performing experiences for young people who are passionate about music. |
