Mechanical bull riding for a good cause |
|
Arizona’s Finest Things, an annual fundraising initiative to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CF), announces its first annual Best of the Bull competition. On Thursday, June 12 from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., Valley residents will have the chance to try their rodeo prowess on the mechanical bull at Tempe’s new Cadillac Ranch (www.cadillacranchtempe.com) for a variety of prizes ranging from a trip to Hawaii to valuable sports memorabilia. All proceeds benefit CF and tickets are $10 at the door.
“We have Cedric Ceballos from the Phoenix Suns hosting the bull-riding competition, incredible drink specials, and the super-popular DJ Greggy D is coming out to keep the tempo high,” said Nicole Ryba, 30, event co-chair.
For those who want to try to best the bull, it is $10 to enter the competition. The individual who rides longest will win the grand prize, a trip for two to Hawaii. Other prizes include gift certificates for Tempe Marketplace and Desert Ridge Marketplace, tickets to see Cold Play and a variety of autographed memorabilia donated by the Diamondbacks and the Suns. SKYY Vodka will offer drink specials with all of the money going to CF.
Cadillac Ranch is located in the Tempe Marketplace on the north side of the mall.
