The Arc of Tempe sets sail for adventure on the high seas with “Anchors Aweigh,” its annual membership meeting on July 18, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at 1221 W. Howe St.

This year’s cruise theme includes three “ports of call.”  First stop, Education.  How have you prepared for the future or your child or dependent with special needs? Greg Morell, a financial planning specialist, will provide advice on setting up trusts and planning for your child’s future.

Next stop, “Entertainment.” It’s a fashion show, with Recreation Center participants model the latest cruise wear on a budget. The Arc of Tempe models have trolled the aisles of The Tempe Arc Thrift Store to bring you ocean-going ensembles that won’t sink your checkbook.

Final destination, the “All-Star Reception.” Mix, mingle, and nosh with cruise ship captain and high-seas models as free snacks and beverages are provided.

The Arc of Tempe is a nonprofit organization serving the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the community.
