Road construction may turn your daily drive from a short hop to a long hassle. So keep these restrictions in mind when planning out your daily commute:

• Veterans Way will be closed eastbound between College Avenue and Sixth Street nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Aug. 5 and 6 to allow communications utility work.

• Southbound McAllister Avenue between Lemon Street and Apache Boulevard is closed until Aug. 11. Northbound McAllister Avenue between Apache Boulevard and Lemon Street will be closed July 30 until Aug. 15 to install a median.

• Southern Avenue at Priest Drive will be closed in both directions on the following three weekends to reconstruct and pave the intersection: 8 p.m. Aug. 8 to 5 a.m. Aug. 11; 8 p.m. Aug. 15 to 5 a.m. Aug. 18; and 8 p.m. Aug. 22 to 5 a.m. Aug. 25.

Also occurring on the above weekends, Priest Drive at Southern Avenue will be restricted to one lane in each direction. Vehicular traffic should use Mill Avenue or 48th Street as an alternative. Local business access will be maintained.

• Eleventh Street between Mill and Maple avenues is closed in both directions daily from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. until Aug. 8 to install a water line.

• Third Street between Mill and Ash avenues will be closed in both directions daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 5-6 to allow for light rail construction work.
