Historical society offers fall brunch lecture series
The Arizona Historical Society’s fall lecture series, “Grand Plans & Dirty Deeds: Arizona Political Stories,” is one of the group’s best brunch programs ever!  Join them for a look back into Arizona’s political past and enjoy a hot brunch.
    Programs take place Saturdays from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Arizona Historical Society Museum, 1300 N. College Ave. The schedule includes:

• Wrongful Impeachment: The Unusual Story of Gov. Evan Mecham, Sept. 20. Presented by Jack August, author/historian.

    • The Push for Equal Rights in Phoenix, Oct. 18. Presented by Judge Elizabeth Finn.

    • Ed Pastor: My Run for Congress, Nov. 15. Congressman Ed Pastor discusses his experience as the first Hispanic Arizonan to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives.

• Two Governors Too Many: The Disputed Election of 1916, Dec. 20. Presented by Jim Turner, historian.

Each program includes a hot breakfast followed by the presentation. Cost is $25 for each session, or $90 for the entire series. Call 520-617-1153 to register.
