New literary mag seeks student writers
Superstition Review continues to break exciting literary ground with its Reading Series.  The second event in the Reading Series is fast approaching for 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13 in the Cooley Ballroom on the Polytechnic campus of Arizona State University.
This semester, Superstition Review is particularly encouraging local college and high school students to attend the readings, hoping to promote the craft of creative writing at ASU. According to Reading Series Editor Sarah Snyder, "Many of the creative writing faculty who are reading require their students to attend a 'cultural event' which this reading may count as. SR readings will always be a great opportunity to commend good students and to see your professors in action."

Following the reading, there will be a Q&A session to promote critical thinking and analysis. All events in the reading series are free to the public, and promote a family-friendly atmosphere.

Superstition Review has a tasty collaboration between the Poly CSA and ASU Catering Services in place for the reading.  Poly's CSA will provide fresh, locally grown, organic produce for the reading, and ASU Catering Services will prepare appetizers for all in attendance. To learn more about the Poly CSA and the produce that they provide weekly, visit: http://www.polycsa.org/.

The reading will feature creative writing faculty from local community colleges.  Superstition Review will feature Lois Roma-Deeley from Paradise Valley Community College, Josh Rathkamp from Mesa Community College, Hershman John from Phoenix College, and Patrick Michael Finn from Chandler-Gilbert Community College.  These talented authors will read their poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction.

The third and final reading in the series is set for Monday, Nov. 17, will feature the students of the creative writing programs at ASU.

The editors of Superstition Review will hold a new series each semester, preceding upcoming issues of the magazine, which publishes online biannually. The editors currently are accepting submissions of art, fiction, nonfiction, and poetry for our Issue 2 set to launch in December of 2008. See www.asu.edu/superstitionreview/v1n1/submissions.html for guidelines.

As a highly anticipated online literary magazine, Superstition Review's inaugural issue was launched successfully on May 4, publishing many established and up-and-coming writers from around the nation. Founded in 2007 by teachers and students from ASU 's Polytechnic campus, Superstition Review is committed to publishing fresh fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, book reviews, interviews and art.
